About Us

Our mission is to enhance the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of our nation’s Veterans and their families.

Established in 2013 by John and Nicole Mahshie, the Veterans Healing Farm celebrates its 11th year of helping our Veteran community. Today our focus is on improving Veteran mental health.

OUR MISSION: To enhance the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of our nation’s Veterans and their families.

We accomplish this through the creation of a safe, peaceful environment that fosters healing and camaraderie. Our programs focus on brain health and includes agritherapy (organic farming, beekeeping, medicinal herbs) as well as a variety of other therapies / therapeutic activities, workshops, and live events.

Everything grown at the Farm is donated back to our Veteran community. We regularly distribute produce at the Charles George VA Medical Center, Veterans Restoration Quarters, IAM Food Pantry, Hendersonville Rescue Mission, The Storehouse, SafeLight Women’s Shelter as well as other organizations in need.

2025 marks our 12th year of helping our Veterans

Life On the Farm

At Veteran’s Healing Farm, healing and community go hand in hand. From planting herbs and tending bees to sharing meals and laughter at seasonal events, every moment on the farm nurtures well-being and connection.

Our photo galleries offer a glimpse into the heart of our work — where Veterans and their families come together to grow, give back, and have a little fun along the way.
