Privacy policy

Your privacy matters to us

This policy explains what information Veterans Healing Farm collects through veteranshealingfarm.org, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Last updated: October 23, 2026

1. Who we are

Veterans Healing Farm ("VHF," "we," "us") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located at 138 Kimzey Road, Mills River, NC 28759. We run the website veteranshealingfarm.org (the "site"). This policy applies to the site and to information you send us directly, such as by email or phone.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

  • Email sign-up: your email address, when you join our email list.
  • Messages: your name, contact details, and anything you include when you email, call, or write to us.
  • Volunteer sign-up: the details you enter in our volunteer form.
  • Event registration: the details you provide when you register for a workshop or event.
  • Donations: your name, contact details, and gift information. Online gifts are made on the Community Foundation of Henderson County's secure giving page, so card and bank details are entered there, not on our site.
  • Stories and testimonials: anything you choose to share with us for publication, along with how you'd like your name shown.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical data: like most websites, our site host records basic information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and the site that referred you.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: small files and scripts used to run the site, measure visits, and support advertising. See Cookies and ads.

3. How we use it

  • To respond to your questions and requests.
  • To send our email updates about events, workshops, and volunteer opportunities, if you've signed up.
  • To organize volunteers, workshops, and events.
  • To process and acknowledge donations and keep the records nonprofits are required to keep.
  • To understand how people use the site and improve it.
  • To measure and improve our outreach, including online advertising that helps more veterans find us.
  • To protect the site from spam and abuse, and to meet our legal obligations.

4. How we share it

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these situations:

  • Service providers that help us run the site and our programs, such as website hosting, email, forms, event registration, and donation processing. They may use your information only to provide services to us or as described in their own privacy policies.
  • Advertising and measurement partners that receive technical data through cookies and tags on our site (see Cookies and ads).
  • Legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the safety of our visitors, veterans, volunteers, staff, or the public.
  • With your permission: for example, publishing a testimonial you've asked us to share.
